Variable Pre-emphasis LPC for Modeling Vocal Effort in the Singing Voice
نویسنده
چکیده
Introduction People can perceive differences in vocal effort between voices, even when the pitch is the same and sound levels have been normalized. In this situation, the largest indicator of vocal effort is the amount of high-frequency content in the voice relative to low frequency content (Figure 1). The goal of this research is to use linear prediction coding to modify the perception of vocal effort.

A Framework for Parametric Singing Voice Analysis/synthesis
The singing voice is the most variable and flexible of musical instruments. All voices are capable of producing the common phonemes necessary for language understanding and communication, yet each voice possesses distinctive qualities that are seemingly independent of phonemes and words. The unique acoustic qualities of an individual singer’s voice arise from a combination of innate physical fa...
متن کاملSinging Voice Synthesis Combining Excitation plus Resonance and Sinusoidal plus Residual Models
This paper presents an approach to the modeling of the singing voice with a particular emphasis on the naturalness of the resulting synthetic voice. The underlying analysis/synthesis technique is based on the Spectral Modeling Synthesis (SMS) and a newly developed Excitation plus Resonance (EpR) model. With this approach a complete singing voice synthesizer is developed that generates a vocal m...
متن کاملA Book to Scare and Stop Singing A critique of Larynx as Instrument and the Challenges to Vocal Production
The production of scientific resources in the field of recognition and application of sound is one of the most urgent necessities for Iranian society of voice training, speech and singing. In a society where the voices of its voice actors and speakers are unfortunately often harsh, piercing and, artificial, and where these types of voices have become a trend, the necessity of research in this a...
متن کاملVocal Effort Modification for Singing Synthesis
Vocal effort modification of natural speech is an asset to various applications, in particular, for adding flexibility to concatenative voice synthesis systems. Although decreasing vocal effort is not particularly difficult, increasing vocal effort is a challenging issue. It requires the generation of artificial harmonics in the voice spectrum, along with transformation of the spectral envelope...
متن کاملThe singing power ratio as an objective measure of singing voice quality in untrained talented and nontalented singers.
A growing body of contemporary research has investigated differences between trained and untrained singing voices. However, few studies have separated untrained singers into those who do and do not express abilities related to singing talent, including accurate pitch control and production of a pleasant timbre (voice quality). This investigation studied measures of the singing power ratio (SPR)...
